Molapo’s Migration Bowl is a breathtaking ceramic masterwork that vividly cap- tures the spectacle of the great migration, where hundreds of thousands of wil- debeest embark on their perilous journey across the Serengeti plains. Crafted in the shape of a bowl, the artwork depicts wildebeest and zebra thundering across the flood plains, braving treacherous rivers and streams teeming with crocodiles and angry hippos. Molapo has skillfully captured the urgency that propels the wildebeest forward, with each animal appearing to surge with de- termination.

Painter Mthulisi’s use of earthy tones and textures brings the African savannah to life, while his dynamic composition and expressive brushstrokes perfectly convey the intense drama and beauty of this awe-inspiring natural wonder. The work beautifully encapsulates the raw energy and peril of the migration, im- mersing the viewer in the heart of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife event.
