Care Instructions: Ceramic Pieces
To ensure the longevity and beauty of your Ardmore Design ceramic pieces, please follow these care instructions:
Cleaning:
Regularly dust ceramics using soft materials such as a feather duster, soft cloth, or soft tissue paper to prevent dust buildup.
For glazed ceramics, wipe gently with a damp cloth, then dry immediately using a soft, absorbent cloth or tissue paper to remove any excess water and maintain the finish.
When washing, hand wash only using lukewarm water and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the glaze and delicate details.
Handling:
Always handle ceramics with clean, dry hands, using both hands to support the piece, especially at the base.
Avoid lifting ceramics by handles, spouts, or delicate features, as these areas are more fragile.
Keep ceramics away from extreme temperatures and avoid placing hot ceramics directly into cold water to prevent cracking.
Candle Holders:
To remove wax buildup from ceramic candle holders, turn them upside down into a deep basin of boiling water to allow excess wax to melt and release.
Use a soft wooden or plastic tool to remove any remaining wax, avoiding sharp or metal objects that may scratch the surface.
We recommend using bobeches (candle wax catchers) to prevent wax from dripping onto the holder and preserve its finish.
Display & Storage:
Keep ceramics away from direct sunlight and areas with significant temperature fluctuations to prevent fading or thermal stress.
Place ceramics on stable surfaces where there’s minimal risk of tipping or accidental damage.
When storing multiple pieces, use soft padding materials like acid-free tissue paper or foam to prevent scratches or chips. Avoid stacking unless the ceramics are designed for it.
General Tips:
Avoid dishwashers and microwaves, as these can weaken decorative elements and fine ceramic finishes.
Inspect ceramics regularly for cracks or signs of wear to address any issues before they worsen.
By following these guidelines, your Ardmore Design ceramics will remain exquisite and well-preserved for years to come.
