Ardmore Ceramic Art Takes Flight:
A Celebratory Exhibition at Cape Town’s Iconic Mount Nelson Hotel
In 2025, Ardmore Ceramic Art, founded in 1985 by the visionary Fée Halsted, will proudly celebrate its 40th anniversary. To mark this momentous milestone, Ardmore invites art enthusiasts and collectors to an exclusive exhibition hosted at Cape Town’s prestigious Mount Nelson Hotel from 20–23 February 2025.
This year’s theme, “Taking Flight,” symbolizes new beginnings and Ardmore’s continued evolution as a beacon of creativity and craftsmanship. Central to this celebration is the launch of a new signature scarf design, “Phinda Pride,” which captures the essence of Ardmore’s artistry. The design features two regal lions poised in a fantastical jungle teeming with vibrant life. Winding foliage and dynamic plant forms create a mesmerizing backdrop, while the presence of Turacos—known in African folklore as symbols of freedom and new beginnings—adds a layer of poetic significance.
The Turacos, with their striking colors and graceful movements across the tree canopy, epitomize Ardmore’s spirit of adaptability and innovation. This motif has inspired Fée Halsted and her team of talented artists to craft a majestic collection of ceramic artworks that will be unveiled at The Mount Nelson exhibition.
Timed to coincide with Cape Town’s thriving art season, when the city becomes a hub for international collectors and enthusiasts, the exhibition promises to be a feast for the senses. As art meets design in this dynamic cultural capital, Ardmore’s 40th-anniversary collection will offer a unique blend of tradition, storytelling, and contemporary elegance.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness the next chapter of Ardmore’s extraordinary journey.
